What You Consume Matters: How Coaching Calls Quietly Changed My Mindset
I joined a coaching program in April ish. I have done some of the trainings. I have showed up to 85% of the weekly calls (there are 2 and they total 2.5-3 hours a week). I have beat myself up some about not doing all of the trainings because why did I sign up if not to learn the stuff.
I realized today that the hours on the coaching calls is working. It has seeped into my brain in the best ways possible. While I haven't "shown up" for myself by doing the trainings, I have in fact shown up in other ways that feel natural to me. When I show up it means I pay attention. I like live calls because they don't make me want to fall asleep. I am in all of her facebook groups that I can be in. I follow her stories and posts on instagram. I follow her on Facebook and read her posts. In my head I am just consuming or that's what I think, until I start reading other peoples posts and my own and see the differences hers make. The nuances on how she writes. What style and format. Her catch phrases that have been filling the crevices in my head.
I just sent a text to someone "action takers get results". I sent this because someone told me something and it was about them taking action after a conversation we just had last night. And then I wrote it and thought, wow. I am living it.
The people, content and things you consume matter more than you think.
You might just think I'm "just going to do a little of this scrolling". Just going to read one news story. Just going to answer this phone call and see what they are calling about. But your mind embodies all of that stuff. if you are consuming news and chaos and hate, your reality will reflect that chaos and hate. If you consume support, encouragement and high energy, your reality will reflect that.
What you consume matters. Choose wisely.
